Chong who expressed anger and shock over the morning incident said it was a desperate act from the Barisan Nasional intention to cower him which he said would be unsuccessful as he would speak louder against the wrong doing of the BN government.

Describing the motive as a last measures to intimidate him, Chong said he was alerted by his maids at 7.30 am that there were broken bottles outside the entrance. He called the MPV and was advised to lodge a report at Simpang Tiga.

Chong said from what the police told him, the case was more than intimidation as they wanted to burn down his house which he stayed with his parents, wife, three children and two maids.

“It looks like a political ploy to silence me. They had tried all legal means bringing me to the court and then asking the police to seize my laptop. And since all legal means failed, they tried this,” he said.

After the incident, he said he would be taking more care on his personal safety and that of his family. He said he is leaving to the police to investigate.

A number of police were at the house to look for clues.

The first bottle was found near the main entrance, burning a flower pot. The second was found under a window while the third was found under another window.
