DANGEROUS

smk-assya

Hundred of students from Sg. Plan housing area have been endangering their own safety by crossing a river on a makeshift bridge made of piling poles all these years.

Their plight came to our notice when someone call us to highlight their plight in Bintulu Edition.

State Legislative Assemblyman for Kidurong Chew Chin Sing when approached for comment today at his office in ParkCity Commercial Square said these students should take the main road instead.

“In view of their safety, they can coming down from SMK Assyakirin to SK Tg Batu, from there cross over to the Sungai Plan flats area”

He admitted that might take double the time for them using the ‘unsafe’ short cut route but a safer alternative. Chew also pledging to bring up the matter to the relevant authority.

He promised no immediate solution to the problem.

Isn't it heartening to know that these kids risk their life crossing this creek (Sg. Plan?) to go to school daily. No one cares about repairing or better still replacing the planks (made of piling poles). SMK Assyakirin PIBG should have been pro-active at protecting these school kids.

The wooden bridge is dangerously tilting - on the brink of collapse. Innocent lives could be in danger.
