Labuan: The whole island plunged into darkness for about one hour from 8.40pm, Friday.
A Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd official said the power failure occurred after the main generator supplying electricity to the whole island malfunctioned.
It disrupted several events including a community programme "Apa Khabar Orang Kampung". Power was restored at about 9.45pm.
